Soulmate
Meet Cute NYC: a red apple with a heart cut out, surrounded by hearts

Meet people in New York.
In real life.

Soulmate exists to get people off their phones and meeting each other in person. Your matchmaker works in the background while you live your life in the foreground. And the best way to live that life is to get out there.

That’s why we started Meet Cute NYC: a free newsletter of the best events in New York for meeting someone in real life. It lands every Sunday night with the week ahead.

The kinds of events we feature

Singles nights and speed dating
Mixers, speed dating and singles parties where everyone came to meet someone, from bookish speed dating in Bed-Stuy to Halloween parties in Williamsburg.
Run clubs and active meetups
Social runs that end at a bar or café, group workouts and walking clubs, where the conversation starts after the cooldown.
Classes and workshops
Dance socials, cooking and craft classes, and other places where learning something side by side breaks the ice for you.
Game nights, trivia and supper clubs
Board game nights that seat you with strangers, trivia teams and shared dinners, where you're never stuck making small talk alone.
Volunteering
Shifts where you work alongside new people for a good cause, which turns out to be one of the easiest ways to get talking.

Questions

Where can I meet single people in NYC?
Some of the best places are events built for talking: speed dating and singles mixers, but also run clubs, dance and cooking classes, game nights, trivia and volunteering. Meet Cute NYC rounds up the best of them across all five boroughs every week.
What is Meet Cute NYC?
Meet Cute NYC is a free weekly newsletter from Soulmate. Every Sunday night it lists the week's best in-person events in New York for meeting someone, each with the time, place, price and a short note on why it's good for meeting people.
Is it free?
Yes. The newsletter is free and always will be. Some of the events it features are free and some are paid; each one shows its price.
Are all the events for singles?
No. Some are singles-only, like speed dating, and some are open to everyone, like run clubs and classes. Every event is marked so you can tell at a glance, along with whether it's free and whether drinking is part of it.
How are events chosen?
We look across event listings in the five boroughs and pick in-person events where strangers actually talk. We check that every event's page is live and that the date and time match, and we don't feature events run by dating apps.
Can I submit my event?
Yes. If you’re hosting something in New York where people can meet, submit it through our event form and we may feature it in an upcoming issue.
