Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 2, 2026
Welcome to Soulmate's Privacy Policy. We know privacy policies can be lengthy, but we've worked hard to make this one clear and straightforward. We want you to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data as you use our intelligent dating service.
1. Who We Are
Soulmate is operated by small talk labs, inc., a Delaware corporation.
2. Where This Privacy Policy Applies
This Privacy Policy applies to all websites, mobile applications, events, and other services operated under the Soulmate brand. Whether you're chatting with our AI, reviewing potential matches, or using any of our features, this Policy covers it all.
For simplicity, we refer to all of these as the "Service" throughout this Privacy Policy.
3. Data We Collect
To help you find meaningful connections through our AI-powered matching system, we need to collect certain information about you. Here's what we collect and why:
Data You Provide to Us
Account Data
When you create an account, we collect basic information such as your email address, phone number, and date of birth to set up and secure your account.
Profile Data
To power our matching algorithm, you provide details about yourself including your gender, interests, preferences, location, and what you're looking for in a partner. Some of this information may be considered sensitive in certain jurisdictions, such as details about your preferences, beliefs, or lifestyle. By providing this data, you consent to our use of it as described in this policy.
Conversation Data
You have voice conversations with our AI agents as part of your profile building and "stories" experience. These voice recordings are transcribed, analyzed, and stored to understand you better and power our matching system.
Photos and Media
We collect photos, videos, or other media you upload to your profile.
Purchase Data
If you make purchases through our service, we collect transaction details including what you purchased, the date, and price. Payment information is handled securely through our payment processors.
Communications and Support Data
When you contact our support team or communicate with another matched member through the Service, we collect and store the content of those communications, including messages exchanged between you and your matches. We also maintain email contact records so we can send welcome messages, service updates, support responses, and, with your consent where required, marketing communications. These records may include your email address, display name, internal user ID, account and onboarding milestones, TestFlight participation, and whether you have received an approved match. A support request may include account information and app or device diagnostics that are displayed to you before you choose to send the request, such as your user ID, app and build version, platform, device model, and operating-system information.
Survey and Feedback Data
When you participate in surveys or research or provide product feedback, we collect your responses. This may include numeric ratings and optional reasons or written details about AI conversations, matches, introductions, reports, or other parts of your experience.
Nomination and Campaign Data When you participate in a Soulmate campaign such as NYC's Hot List, we collect the information you submit about yourself or another person. This may include a name, public social-media handle, your relationship to the nominee, your reason for nominating them, your email address, and referral or campaign information. Nominations are not publicly attributed to nominators, but they are not anonymous to Soulmate. By submitting the Hot List nomination form, you agree that we may contact you by email about the campaign and Soulmate; you can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time. Please submit only public or appropriate information and do not include sensitive or private details about another person.
Safety and Moderation Data
We collect reports, blocks, report reasons and details, related account, match, or conversation context, moderation decisions, appeals, and communications concerning those decisions. Authorized personnel may review relevant content and context when investigating a report or appeal.
Data Generated or Automatically Collected
Usage Data
We collect information about how you interact with our service, including features you use, actions you take, and time spent on the platform.
Device Data
Information about your device including device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, and device identifiers.
Audio Data
When you use voice features, we collect audio recordings from your device's microphone. These recordings are transcribed and processed by our AI systems and third-party AI service providers, including ElevenLabs, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
Profile and Photo Analysis
We use automated systems and authorized reviewers to analyze profile content, including photos, for safety, basic authenticity-related checks, profile presentation and quality, service improvement, and matching-related review. These assessments may affect whether profile content is approved or whether a potential introduction receives additional review. They do not verify a member's identity or guarantee that a member is safe, truthful, or compatible. Automated assessments may be inaccurate, and you may contact us to request review of a profile-photo decision.
Location Data
With your permission, we collect location data to show you matches in your area. Your location coordinates may be sent to third-party services, including Google Maps, to determine your city and neighborhood. You can control location permissions through your device settings.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to recognize you, remember your preferences, understand how you use our service, and improve your experience.
Advertising and Attribution Data
We collect information about how you discovered and use our app so we can measure advertising performance. Through Apple attribution services and AppsFlyer, this may include device and technical identifiers, IP address and network information, our internal user ID, install and referral information, advertising campaign data, deep-link activity, and selected conversion events such as starting or completing registration, starting a Story call, beginning checkout, and completing a subscription purchase. Purchase events may include the subscription tier, price, currency, and where the paywall appeared. We use this information for attribution, analytics, campaign measurement, and fraud prevention. We do not sell this information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Email Engagement Data
For emails where engagement tracking is enabled, our email provider may collect information such as whether a message was delivered, opened, or clicked, together with related device, browser, IP address, and approximate-location information.
Push Notifications
If you grant permission, we collect device tokens to send you push notifications about matches and important updates.
Data From Third Parties
Third-Party Services
We may receive information about you from our business partners and service providers.

Each Story is identified in the Service as either Private or Shared with matches. A Private Story is processed internally to provide the Story experience but is not shared with matches. For a Shared Story, we may use selected textual insights from what you told us in a match explanation or introduction. We do not share your voice recording or the full conversation or transcript with matches. Our personnel and service providers may still process Private and Shared Story content as described in this policy to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will provide notice of material changes before they take effect where required by law. If a change introduces a materially new collection, use, or disclosure of personal information for which consent is required, we will seek that consent before applying the new practice.
